MEET ARITA

Arita Bohannan is an accomplished family law attorney, a former magistrate, mediator, and was selected by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as a Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee. She's an award-winning author who values the written word and will use her talent to draft laws that stand the test of time. As a dedicated Republican, she formed one of Jefferson Parish's most active women's organizations. Arita is also a small business owner, wife, and mother of two boys, both LSU Tigers, who she hopes will choose to stay in our District to work and raise their own families.

A MESSAGE FROM ARITA

"Born an Army brat, I learned early a deep love of my country and the importance of it’s protection.  A victim of childhood sexual abuse, I found strength and protection in the law and our legal system.  Those experiences have led me to have a  life dedicated to advocacy.

Being your elected advocate is a natural progression of my desire to serve my country and fellow citizens.

I have been honored by the military for donating my time to public speaking, where I spoke about my experiences; I have been honored by the Louisiana Supreme Court when asked to not only serve on the Disciplinary Committee but to act as a chairman. I have been honored by the Louisiana Bar when being asked to participate in teaching other lawyers as well as being featured in their video about ethics and professionalism.  I have been honored to serve as a Kenner Magistrate Judge. I have been honored to have two amazing sons call me mom and an incredible husband of 25 years call me his wife.

Now I ask for the honor of your vote.

This is a request I do not ask for lightly.  I appreciate what a wonderful district we have but also understand how difficult it is to manage at the same time.  I am uniquely qualified to resolve these issues fairly, but firmly.

Please feel free to reach out to me or email me if you have questions about me or my campaign that I can answer."
